Gordon Sheet Metal and Roofing is a full-service roofing company that has been serving northeastern North Carolina, southeastern Virginia and the Outer Banks for over 60 years. We specialize in commercial, industrial and upscale residential flat, metal, slate and copper roofing.
Whether you need a roof for a new structure, roof replacement on an existing building or just simple repairs such as patching a leak, Gordon Roofing can help. The following is a list of the different types of roofing we offer:
Hot Tar and Gravel roofing is often used on commercial buildings or roofs which have a very low slope. The roof is created by applying layers of hot tar asphalt and tar paper, to build up and seal the roofs surface. Afterwards the roof is covered with a gravel, to help hold the layers down. The life expectancy of a hot tar and gravel roof can be from 10 to 20 years.
Black rubber roofing, or EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) roofing is a strong, weather resistant alternative to conventional flat roofing methods. EPDM is made from a flexible synthetic rubber membrane and can be applied to a wide range of different roof structures.
White rubber roofing, or TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) is similar to black rubber roofing offering a puncture and grease resistant surface. TPO is also highly reflective, which can reduce the amount of energy and the cost required to cooling buildings.
Our sheet metal shop specialized in the custom fabrication of tin, galvanized and copper sheet metal roofing. This includes standing seam and flat lock solder roofing. Generally we fabricate the panels but will use pre-fabricated panels upon request.
